Annika started her career in Michigan in 2013, but ones close to her might say it began at the age of five with her at home bang trims. She’s come a long way since then cultivating her love of hair in the theatre and styling her friends’ hair for various events.
She began her official training with a two-year apprenticeship under Rusk educator Phil Stone. This comprehensive training in a salon environment provided her with a unique set of skills and experience. She completed her education in hair while attending university for Music Therapy and Vocal Performance where she continued to add to her repertoire of theatre and performance-related hair styling.
These studies ultimately led Annika to New York where, while finishing an internship in Music Therapy at Mount Sinai, she began working part-time at Marie Robinson Salon. Over the last three years, she has fine-tuned her talents and acquired new expertise in the art of hair color under Marie’s masterful eye. Her love of theatre keeps her connected to the heart of the city and provides a versatility in her stylistic perspective. She continues to design hair for local musical theatre productions which also includes coloring, cutting and styling wigs.
Annika’s attention to detail causes her to strive for perfection and longevity in your color. While she has a flair for a natural look, she revels in a challenge where she can think outside the box. She looks forward to finessing your color and teaming up with the ideal stylist for all of your cut and styling needs.
